How FigJam works
FigJam is an infinite canvas with shapes and connectors that snap to a grid, sticky notes, sections, tables, stamps and widgets for Jira, Asana and GitHub. FigJam AI generates flowcharts, org charts and timelines on paid seats, Mermaid pastes as an editable diagram, and boards embed live in Confluence and Notion for signed-in Figma users. Since March 2025 every paid Figma seat includes it.
Blueprintr is diagram-first documentation. You draw the system in Vellum, write the detail into the shapes as strata, and publish one live URL. On Team, Continuum Cloud draws AWS and Azure from a read-only scan, and on AWS it also shows Terraform drift on the canvas. On Enterprise, Continuum Link attaches timestamped snapshots from monitoring and ITSM tools to the shapes, and Continuum Local sweeps your on-premise network from inside it so Blueprintr can draw it.

A FigJam shape holds a label and a link. A Blueprintr stratum holds markdown, tables, code, files and tabs, and can hold another diagram.
Vendor icons, and SVG out
Vellum ships AWS, Azure, GCP and Kubernetes icon packs and exports SVG, PNG, PDF and GIF. FigJam has no vendor icon packs and does not export SVG.
A scan that draws for you

Moving work from FigJam
Export the boards that hold architecture as PDF or PNG, since FigJam does not export SVG, and bring the images into a blueprint through the import wizard. Redraw the diagram in Vellum with the vendor icon packs, and turn the sticky notes into strata on the shapes they describe. FigJam stays where the design team works.

Is FigJam free with Figma?
Every paid Figma seat includes FigJam, and a Collab seat is a few dollars a month. The free Starter plan holds three FigJam files.
Can Blueprintr import a FigJam board?
Not as a board. Export it as PDF or PNG and bring the images in. Diagrams are redrawn in Vellum.
Does FigJam export SVG?
No, and Figma's help centre says so. Blueprintr exports SVG, PNG, PDF and GIF from Vellum.
Which is better for a system diagram engineers read on call?
Blueprintr: the detail sits behind the shapes, the page is bounded and versioned, and Continuum Cloud can draw the AWS or Azure estate from a scan.
